I was born in Oklahoma and came to visit family in Bullhead City, AZ. I was then so fortunate at the age of fourteen to be able to move to such a beautiful place. All of the mountains amazed me. It was so strange to look around and see them where ever I went. The river is always so refreshing to see as well. The sun is always shining so bright! This is a growing town and a great place to raise a family.

Residents and visitors of Bullhead City are in close proximity to the Grand Canyon National Park, the London Bridge, Hoover Dam, Davis Dam, the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, the Colorado River, and the Virgin River Canyon. Bullhead City is located in Mohave County, between Kingman, AZ and the Nevada state line along Highway 95 on the banks of the Colorado River near the California/Nevada/Arizona state lines. Bullhead City features the Colorado River, miles of natural hiking, thousands of acres of public lands, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Arizona's Veteran Memorial, and the Colorado River Museum.

The Colorado River is the primary river of the American Southwest, draining somewhere in the vicinity of 242,000 square miles of land, from the states of Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. The Green River is the primary tributary of the Colorado River, and until 1921, the Colorado River did not technically begin until the Grand and Green Rivers joined in Utah. In that year, the Grand River was renamed as the Colorado River, at the request of the State of Colorado. The locals here in Bullhead City, AZ love to be at the river whenever possible. It is a great place to enjoy with your family or friends having a cookout, fishing, and playing with your river toys.

In 1962, London Bridge was falling down. Built in 1831, the bridge couldn't handle the ever-increasing flow of traffic across the Thames River. The British government decided to put the bridge up for sale, and Robert McCulloch, Founder of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Chairman of McCulloch Oil Corporation, submitted the winning bid of $2,460,000. The bridge was dismantled, and each stone was carefully marked. Everything was shipped 10,000 miles to Long Beach, California, and then trucked to Lake Havasu City. Reconstruction began on September 23, 1968, with a ceremony including the Lord Mayor of London, who laid the cornerstone. On October 10, 1971, the bridge was dedicated.
